Since I am someone is likes to observe and take in his surroundings, my work and creative projects heavily reflect on the daily events I absorb through my senses. My overall goal when creating something such as a film is to tell a story which are inspired by random moments in life. These moments that inspire me can range from a variety of good things, to a number of occurrences that were less fortunate. However, while many of the ideas in my work relate to real life topics, I find it a lot more interesting to portray them in an abstract way. If I achieve this goal, I would hope that the viewer has to really look and analyze the piece in order to understand it's true meaning. While trying to make the viewer understand my personal meaning, a secondary goal I have is to allow some room for the viewers own interpretation.
Besides the inspiration I receive from everyday life, I tend to take a lot of inspiration from original creative thinkers. This includes names such as Steven Spielberg, Steve Jobs, Bruce Lee, Muhammad Ali and Michael Jackson to name a few. I admire the way they changed the particular fields they were in just by being themselves and doing what they loved. Even if it meant being criticized at an early stage in their careers, these icons managed to overcome adversity and rise to the occasion. This is the type of approach I hope to successfully take not only towards creating, but life in general.
